Chicken Kurma with Golden Raisins




  1. Heat 1 Tbsp oil, saute chicken pieces (thigh with bone-in), about 6 and cook for about 10 minutes. until golden all over. Remove from pan, set aside.
  2. Fry 1 chopped onion with 2 bay leaves and 2 cinnamon sticks, 6 cardamom pods-lightly crushed, for about 5 minutes. - until onion onion soft and golden.
  3. Slow down the fire, return chicken to pan.
  4. Mix in about 3 Tbsp of yogurt, 4 Tbsp kurma paste and handful of golden raisins. Give it a stir, mix well. Add a bit of water if you think it's too dry.
  5. Cover with lid and cook for about 30 minutes. or until chicken falls easily off the bone. Stir, in between time.
  6. Top with coriander. Serve over rice or chapati or roti canai:)
