Kari Ikan Bilis (Anchovy Curry)


  • Handful of ikan bilis
  • 2 potatoes - cut cubes
  • 1 large red onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 sting of curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp fish curry powder (mix with water make into paste)
  • 1.2 tsp mix halba
  • 1 tsp asam jawa
  • 1 cup coconut milk (or milk)
  • salt to taste
  • oil for cooking
  1. Heat oil, saute the onion. Then the halba mix and curry leaves.
  2. Add in curry paste. Add more water as needed, once can see the oil, add in potatoes cubes.
  3. Stir to mix well, cover and let it cook a bit.
  4. Once potatoes soft, add in coconut milk. Let it turn to boil.
  5. Now, add the anchovy, slow fire and let cook for about 5 to 10 minutes.
  6. Serve!!
